Bang & Olufsen has updated it’s Beoplay E8 True Wireless earphones. The 3rd generation of Beoplay E8, known as Beoplay E8 3.0, has been re-engineered to bring significant improvements over its predecessors, seeking to address consumer demand for enhanced comfort, better call clarity, and more battery life.
Through 3D-modelling and consumer testing, more compact size and optimised design are achieved with the size of each earphone reduced by 17 per cent, weighing only 5.8 grams each. It ensures that the Beoplay E8 3.0 fits a more extensive variety of ear shapes and sizes, particularly smaller ears, and provides a more natural and comfortable wearing experience.
On the battery life front, the engineers at Bang & Olufsen has achieved a 119 per cent improvement over Beoplay E8 2.0 with the 3.0 having up to 7 hours of continuous playtime and four full charges built into its premium leather wireless charging case with a total playtime of up to 35 hours. The additional battery life allows users to go up to several weeks before having to charge the case, which takes only 2 hours.
Bang & Olufsen has also doubled the number of microphones from two to four with a beamforming implementation directed towards the mouth, ensuring voice clarity while suppressing ambient noise from the surroundings. The new array of microphones also improves Transparency Mode, which allows one to listen in to the surroundings with a simple tap on the earphone.
“With the third generation Beoplay E8, we have made the world’s best-sounding true wireless earphones even better. At Bang & Olufsen, we never stop challenging the boundaries of performance, craft and design and this obsession has led us to create the next edition of Beoplay E8, which will give our customers a more powerful true wireless experience and better sound in a compact design,” says Christoffer Østergaard Poulsen, Vice President of Product Management at Bang & Olufsen.
The Beoplay E8 3.0 is finished in a finely crafted leather case with wireless charging that lets one take the TWS around all day, and the earphones fit perfectly into the leather case with a secure magnetic click.
Bang & Olufsen engineers have also optimised the sound performance by implementing a new bass port that lets airflow in and out of the acoustic chamber, which allows the drivers inside Beoplay E8 to move more freely and produce a higher and more precise bass output. Users can also download Beoplay App to tweak the sound through the ToneTouch visual equaliser, where one could drag around the dot between four areas to seamlessly change the audio experience accordingly, pitch to improve the soundscape, or use the presets to make quick adjustments.
On the technology front, Bang & Olufsen has implemented Bluetooth 5.1, which facilitates a fast setup as well as a flawless user experience. At the same time, the battery consumption is kept at a minimum with support for Bluetooth codecs ACC and aptX™.
Priced at USD 350, the Beoplay E8 3.0 is launching in Black and will be available in Bang & Olufsen stores, Bang & Olufsen accounts, and www.bang-olufsen.com from January 15, 2020 (Greater China Region) and February 14, 2020 (rest of world). The Wireless Charging Pad is available today.
