The HiFiMAN Arya, one of the Tianjin-based audio manufacturer’s best selling open-back planar magnetic headphones, has just received an update featuring the company’s Stealth Magnet Technology which first debuted with the SUSVARA in October 2017.
The technology revolves around the use of “Stealth Magnets”, which are uniquely shaped to allow waves to pass through the magnet without generating interference, dramatically reducing wave diffraction turbulence that degrades the integrity of the sound waves, maximizing the accuracy of the sonic output with acoustic transparency.
Before 2021, the Stealth Magnet Technology had only been implemented on the SUSVARA and the HE1000se, which was introduced in November 2018.
2021 sees the introduction of the technology on more affordable offerings. These include the recently announced DEVA Pro and the HE400se, priced at USD 329 and USD 149, respectively.
“As much of an achievement the original Arya may have been, the Arya Stealth Magnet version takes its performance to a higher level: easier to drive, better imaging, solid build quality, and a more accurate soundstage, “said Dr Fang Bian, President, and CEO, HIFIMAN Electronics.
Like its predecessors, the Arya Stealth Magnet retains the ergonomic design of the model, which was first introduced in November 2018. It also continues to feature the company’s patented “Window Shade” system that keeps the sound waves from second refraction to avoid unwanted vibration and distortion and incorporates the super-thin diaphragm, which according to the company, guarantees fast response and the bare minimum of distortion.
The updated model features an impedance of 32 ohms, sensitivity measured at 94dB, a frequency response of 8Hz – 65kHz, and weighs in at 404g. It is bundled with a single Crystalline Copper cable with a jet black woven exterior finish, terminated in a 6.35 mm single-ended plug.
The HiFiMAN Arya Stealth Magnet is currently available and retails at GBP 1,349 / SGD 2,399 / USD 1,599.
