Huawei’s P20 Pro smartphone was awarded the annual VGP (Visual Grand Prix) Technology Grand Prize and Gold Award, which are described as ‘two of the most desired and respected prizes in the Japanese consumer electronics market’.
“The P20 Pro’s compatibility with the new wireless transmission standard HWA is the key influencing factor for the awards, particularly the Technology Grand Prize.” cited the Lifestyle A/V sectional committee of the VGP awards.
Han-Chieh (John) Wu, Technical Founder of HWA said, “As a new wireless transmission standard, HWA is honoured and delighted to be recognised by VGP as a key standard of compatibility when evaluating one of the most prestigious awards in Japan!”.
HWA is a new standard for high-resolution wireless audio certification, HWA’s high-definition audio wireless transmission standard seeks to greatly enhance the user experience of enjoying high-quality music via wireless devices through the facilitation of high-quality music reproduction.
The Huawei P20 Pro is the current model of the P-Series, Huawei announced in September that it has sold 10 million units of its flagship P20 Pro and P20 devices since their global launch in late March this year. The P20 also received a VGP 2019 Award in the smartphone category.
The awards will be officially released on PHILE WEB on 17th November 2018.
