They are employing an Advanced Hybrid Active Noise Cancelling (ANC) system to cancel out external noise using four dedicated ANC microphones designed to tune out a broad range of external frequencies accurately. The Razer Opus eliminates noise from the background hum of the city to the hectic lifestyle of working from home with others, which could spoil one’s focus and enjoyment of high-fidelity recordings.

“Even with our many years of experience in creating headsets for one of the most demanding audiences in the world, the design of the Razer Opus required us to rethink every detail,” said Alvin Cheung, Senior Vice President of Razer’s Peripherals Business Unit. “With the Razer Opus headphones, we can deliver a listening experience that will satisfy even the most discerning audiophile, in any environment.”

While there is significant appreciation in the filtering of external noise, the team recognises that the quality of audio reproduction remains paramount. Intending to deliver vibrant and flawless sound, the Razer Opus has undergone hundreds of scientifically-formulated tests to be THX Certified. Intricate details include possessing a frequency range and response capable of delivering clear, detailed vocals as well as deep, impactful bass with zero distortion at high volumes ensures that the Razer Opus adheres to one of the industry’s most recognised audio standards.

“Through close collaboration with the Opus design team, we were able to provide input throughout the development process,” said Peter Vasay, Head of THX Certification. “The result is a high-performance wireless headphone that delivers a rich, balanced soundstage, clear vocals, and deep impactful bass optimized for music, games, and movies.”

Crafted for comfort, the Razer Opus is styled in a rotatable circumaural ear cup design, weighing in at just 265 grams. The Razer Opus’ low weight and plush leatherette foam ear cushions and headband provide a comfortable, pressure-point free fit for a prolonged period of usage, powered with a battery life of up to 25 hours with ANC on.

The headphone also features Quick Attention Mode, which allows one to listen to the outside world when required by pressing and holding the ANC button, as well as Auto Pause / Play mode, which pauses audio when the headphone is taken off and plays when it is back on. Unlike offerings like the Sony WH-1000XM3, everything is controlled via five physical buttons with no touchpad implementation.

The Razer Opus sports a 40 mm driver on either side, running on Bluetooth 4.2 with support for Bluetooth Codecs AAC and aptX. The headphone is also equipped with a 3.5 mm single-ended jack for wired connectivity and a companion app that allows one to check the battery status, select from equalizer presets as well as toggle the automatic settings.

Priced at EUR 209.99 / SGD 299.99 / USD 199.99, the Razer Opus Wireless ANC Headset is available in Midnight Blue and Black. It is available from Razerstores and Razerstore.com as well as selected online retailers in Asia-Pacific, Canada, China, EU, and the US.
