Sony WF-1000XM3 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones

Sony has just pushed out a firmware update for its Sony WF-1000XM3 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones. In my review of the WF-1000XM3 earlier this year, the lack of volume control on the earbuds was listed amongst my criticisms alongside the lack of a water-resistant rating as well as the lack of support for HD Bluetooth codecs.

With firmware 2.0.2, Sony added the ability to adjust the volume using the headphone’s touch sensor, support for Amazon Alexa as well as the ability to check the battery level of the charging case using the Sony Headphones Connect app. Sony also took the opportunity to revamp the touch sensor customisation interface in the Sony Headphones Connect app which in my opinion increased the functionality of the touch sensor.

Sony’s latest firmware for the Sony WF-1000XM3 Wireless Noise Cancelling Headphones is available for download and as always firmware updating is done via Sony’s Headphones Connect app with an active Internet connection to one’s Android or iOS device.
