Sony has added two new digital music players, the NW-ZX707 and the NW-A306, to its Walkman® offerings.

The NW-ZX707 premium Walkman® sports a 5-inch display and components from its latest Signature Series siblings, which include upgraded fine-tuned capacitors, an FT CAP3 (high polymer) capacitor and a large solid high polymer capacitor which offers large capacitance and low resistance. It is coupled with an OFC milled block covering the digital block, a design first appeared on the latest signature series Walkman®, allowing the premium Walkman® to deliver music from a silent background.

Integrated within the NW-ZX707 is a DSD Remastering Engine where Pulse Code Modulation (PCM) audio signals are resampled as 11.2 MHz Direct Stream Digital (DSD).

Weighting in at just under 200 grams, the NW-A306 is designed for discerning users looking for high-quality sound and style with the intent to allow one to download and stream their favourite music with the comfort and function of a 3.6-inch display, tactile physical music controls and full Wi-Fi® compatibility.

Both players feature the S-Master™ HX digital amplifier technology, independently developed for Walkman®. The native DSD format compatible full digital amplifier reduces distortion and noise acrosss a wide range of frequencies, further enhanced by the use of high-quality lead-free solder.

Similar to their latest Signature Series siblings, reflow solder containing gold is used in both models to provide significantly improved sound localisation and wider sound space. A dual clock, film capacitor and a fine sound register have been precisely placed within each Walkman® to realise both players’ sonic capabilities.

The NW-ZX707 and the NW-A306 both use Edge-AI (Artificial Intelligence), DSEE Ultimate™ (Digital Sound Enhancement Engine) which upscales compressed digital music files in real time. The evolving algorithm now delivers even greater benefits for CD-quality (16 bit 44.1/48kHz) lossless codec audio. Restoring acoustic subtleties and dynamic range provides a richer, more complete listening experience.

Both Walkman® feature a longer battery life than their predecessors so that listeners can immerse themselves in more of their music. The NW-ZX707 has a battery life of up to 25 hours of 44.1 kHz FLAC playback and up to 23 hours of 96 kHz FLAC High-Resolution Audio playback when using the Sony Music Player or up to 22 hours in offline mode, even when streaming. The NW-A306 has a battery life of up to 36 hours of 44.1 kHz FLAC playback and up to 32 hours of 96 kHz FLAC high-resolution audio playback when using the Sony Music Player, or even up to 26 hours in offline mode with the streaming service apps to meet the demand of consumers.

The NW-ZX707 and NW-A306 will be available in Singapore at Sony Stores and their authorised dealers from the end of January 2023, with an SRP of SGD 1,199 and SGD 479, respectively.
